Every time I go out on my porch, I feel like I’m in a vacation home!  We contracted with J&L Properties Plus to rebuild a rough screened-in porch on the back of our house.  Our idea was to replace the old structure with a slightly more robust one, but Joe offered a design that was much more attractive and finished than anything we had imagined.  He is more than a carpenter – he is a designer with a keen eye for functionality paired with beautiful lines and materials.

We were very impressed with the quality of work as it was being done.  Joe is precise and meticulous with his work and he required that a task be re-done if it didn't meet his high standards.  This is evident in the finished project.

Joe and his team are some of the hardest workers I know.  Because of some permitting delays, the porch project didn’t get started until the beginning of winter.  They arrived every day at 7am and worked full days throughout the winter unless it was actively snowing or too cold to work with the materials.  They were cheerful and efficient.  At the end of each day, everything was stowed away and the work site was always left tidy.

We initially reached out to Joe because of what he had heard about his character.  A much-loved public figure in a neighboring town was paralyzed in a serious accident.  Led by the mother of Joe's good friend in that town, the community came together and remodeled the entire house to be wheelchair accessible by the time the injured person came home from rehab.  Supplies and labor were donated.  Joe was the lead contractor involved in this project.  He is self-employed, but he put his own projects on hold and worked long, long hours for several weeks to make this happen.  He did this as volunteer work.  That says a great deal about the kind of person Joe is.

Joe would be the first choice for any project that we needed done on our house.  He does very fine work.
